You're How Old? And You Have Never Been Camping?

Andrew and I made a trip to Reno this past weekend to buy supplies for a camping trip we plan to make in the near future. I have never been camping, so I am super excited. It took us so long to decide on the equipment we wanted, but we finally decided on a tent, sleeping bags, footprint, rain jackets (you never know), etc.
We also went to see a movie, "Hot Rod." To sum it up it was very stupid, but still quite funny. After leaving the movie we walked outside to see a police helicopter hovering over the area we were in, and several scattered police cars, police bikes, etc. We were curious, so we ventured closer to the area that was being spotlighted by the helicopter (in the car of course). We saw a motorcycle cop and I rolled down my window to ask what was going on. Apparently it was Hot August Nights in Reno and that was the worst area to be in, so they were evacuating the parking lot. He said everything was fine, but we didn't believe it. There were already cops surrounding the place and as we were pulling out of the parking lot they were bringing in another 15 passenger van full of officers.
We also went over to Lake Tahoe to check out campgrounds for our camping adventure. We are a bit discouraged because they are booked until the end of August, but we aren't giving up just yet.
